"Minneapolis hardcore band Disembodied made its name in the ’90s with a style of punk that crossed over into brutal black metal on albums like Existence In Suicide. Though inactive for a while now, the band is reforming for a couple of shows this year, including this one headlining a set celebrating the 15th anniversary of Lake Street punk record store Extreme Noise. Joining it is another of hardcore’s mid-’90s leading lights, Coalesce, which rocked with a pummeling ferocity that typified records like Give Them Rope and There Is Nothing New Under The Sun. Coalesce is currently on a resurgence also, with the band’s first new disc in 10 years, Ox, due in June."
